"ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- President Bush's first reaction when he saw a plane hit the World Trade Center tower was, ``There's one terrible pilot.''
His next thought was, ``It must have been a horrible accident.''
Bush described his reaction to what turned out to be the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks during a town hall forum Tuesday in response to a question from a third-grade student.
The president recalled that he was visiting an elementary school in Sarasota, Fla., to talk about a reading program on the morning of the attack.
``I was sitting outside the classroom waiting to go in, and I saw an airplane hit the tower -- the TV was obviously on -- and I use to fly myself, and I said, `There's one terrible pilot.' And I said, `It must have been a horrible accident....'' '.
