People at work thought it was wierd we ate nut roast at Christmas (thank you Glenn!) rather than turkey. I just feel that if you can avoid this, then you should, just as if you can avoid you can avoid eating (or the people who eat) Cow Udder Eclairs, crows, insects, and rocks then you also should.
