Local things for local people...
I live in Bristol, not a million miles away from the scene of David Blunkett's latest publicity stunt - sorry, policy statement about the high crime rate...in addition to crime though, we also have politics (The Bristolian, and Bristol Indymedia), art (from Banksy- alright, he may have moved on, but the paintings are still around), and while not everyone approves of the latest eatery, there is plenty of good food. So it's not all bad.
The schools are crap, though.
