obscenity and violence...

...actually, more obsenity and violence at that Body Worlds show (as previously reported on accidents aren't naughty), - this time someone has attacked the bodies with a hammer. If I was a gallery attendent in the British Museum's Egyptology Department I would be getting a little nervous.

On a personal note, I went here many years ago, so long ago in fact that the word Edutainment mas a mere gleam in a neologist's eye, and despite the quantity of bodies wired to the walls in grisly parody of their pre-death occupations, and the amount of necrotic dust in the air it was quite moving - I would say sobering, but that is patently not the case. The really distasteful part of the body works show is surely the marketing - the fact it's a multi-million making, touring extravaganza with tie-in TV series across two continents. It's like a disney does anatomy. And that is obscene.
